Jeffrey A. Castle, D.V.M.

Dr. Jeff Castle graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science. He graduated with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1990 from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Castle's special interest in Veterinary Medicine includes surgery, soft tissue and orthopedics, dermatology, and behavior medicine. Dr. Castle also enjoys writing his column “The Pet Corner” for the local Winchester newspaper, The Winchester Sun.

Dr. Castle and his wife, Kimberly, have a blended family including 3 grown children, 3 step-children, 3 boys at home, and 2 dogs. Dr. Castle is a member of the A.V.M.A. (American Veterinary Medical Association), K.V.M.A. (Kentucky Veterinary Medical Association), and Clark County Health Department - Board of Directors.

Scott M. Pope, D.V.M.

Dr. Scott Pope graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan College in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science. He graduated with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2016 from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Pope has worked with animals in animal clinics since he was 16 years old. Dr. Pope's personal interests include cycling, reading, hiking, and computers. He owns a black Pug named Bender and a mixed breed dog named Gob.

Mary E. Steagall, L.V.T.

Mary graduated in 2001 from Morehead State University as a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She has worked in the field of Veterinary Medicine for 18 years. Mary lives in Winchester with her husband, 3 Schnauzers, a corn snake, and mischievous pet rats. Her hobbies include reading, exercise and fitness, hunting, and archery.

Laura John

Laura has worked for the Castle Family businesses since 2010. Laura currently works as an office manager at Clark County Veterinary Clinic.

She was born and raised in Louisiana and graduated from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge in 1997 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture.

Laura is a proud mom of four teenagers. She was raised on a family farm and grew up in a 4-H family showing Registered Angus cattle, pigs, and chickens. Laura has a passion for all animals, especially her dog, Tess, her cat, Calvin, and her grand dog, Queso.

Ashley Tipton

Ashley has worked at Clark County Veterinary Clinic for 3 ½ years and has been a groomer for 2 ½ years. Ashley is married and shares her love for animals with her husband, Josh. Ashley and Josh have six dogs – Lilly, Billy, Kapo, Chief, Bruce, and Dozer along with two cats – Mufasa and Little White Kitty.

She has a passion for animals as she was raised in the country. Her hobbies include camping, fishing, and grooming animals. Ashley loves grooming your sweet fur babies as well as her own fur babies.

Stephanie Houtz

Stephanie has been a groomer at Clark County Veterinary Clinic for 2 years. She is married and has 4 dogs, one cat, and a bird. Stephanie has always loved animals. Her hobbies are cooking and hiking. Stephanie's passion is definitely her fur babies.

Bekah McGuire

Bekah predominantly works in the kennel areas but also lends a hand wherever needed. Bekah graduated from George Rogers Clark High School in 2013. She holds an Associate's Degree in Science.

Bekah grew up with a Beagle named Katie and ever since she has been interested in the veterinary field. She currently has a Chihuahua / Jack Russell mixed dog named Chico. Bekah enjoys drawing, painting, and going to concerts.

Amanda Lewis

Amanda is attending Morehead State University, working toward a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science. She hopes to attend veterinary school soon after. Amanda has a Golden Retriever / Chow mixed dog named Sara and a Dachshund named Leon.

Amanda is a Type One diabetic. She enjoys traveling, exploring, napping, going on adventures, and playing with her dogs. Amanda traveled to Thailand the summer of 2016 to work with dogs, cats, livestock, and elephants.

She plans to go on a similar trip to South Africa to work at a cheetah breeding facility. One day she hopes to own a Bengal cat and a Tibetan Mastiff.

Kiersten King

Kiersten is currently a student at the University of Kentucky pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Biology. She hopes to attend Auburn University to pursue Veterinary Medicine. Kiersten's interests include camping, climbing, kayaking, and anything involving the outdoors.

She lives in Lexington with her kitten named Clarke and a service dog in training named Henry. One day she hopes to own a Basset Hound and name it Roscoe and a Golden Retriever with the name Fish. 

Payton Redmon

Payton is currently a junior at Montgomery County High School. He is a member of the bowling team. Payton plans to attend the University of Kentucky in the pre-veterinary program. He has a Labrador Retriever and a Golden Retriever.
